Plus size retailer Ashley Stewart, as not many know, was close the bankruptcy in 2013. The company’s present success is due only to the passion of the CEO and the team-spirit of the employees, as noted in this excellent article. Ashley Stewart’s clothing for women creates loyalty from its customer service and with over 580,000+ FB followers; the call for customers to become their next-season models generated 38,000 applications! A great response from loyal plus size women who appreciate the brand’s originality and consistency.
The 3 Bears aims to deliver unique clothing for plus size men in the same way that Ashley Stewart provides the full wardrobe to plus size women. CEO of Ashley Steward, James Rhee said, "I saw women coming into these stores two, three times a week. I saw store managers visiting their customers in hospitals. I saw customers coming in and crying with happiness that they found something that fit really well. I found customers coming in and saying, 'I've got a hot date tonight, who's going to help me?' and I saw other customers helping her for two hours.” That’s inspirational.
The 3 Bears launched our first promo video on our new Youtube channel which is live right now and our Pinterest has a new board with our February photoshoot choices.
At 6ft 6in, 17 stone 2lb and with a 40in waist, Zach Miko has been signed to IMG, on of the world’s largest modelling agencies to lead Brawn, a new plus-size division for men. It’s great to see plus size guys and real men given a platform to showcase great fashion that looks and fits well, but their Instagram account still seems the home of everyone under size 8.
As per our 3 Bears mission, we want plus size men to find the fit and look that’s right for them. Plus size women’s fashion is often called ‘Curvy’, so IMG’s division ‘Brawn’ provides a nice counter-point to that.
Next month, The 3 Bears Black & White collection will be featured in a New York fashion shoot. So expect to see more news about this soon.
